Hey, I’m Justine — the heart and eye behind BE/SEEN.


First of all, let me say this: becoming a mom changed me and changed the way I see the world. I am so grateful for the gifts my kids have given me. They are a huge motivator in what I do here. I want my girls to see their mom creating, and know that they can take up space in this world in ANY WAY they choose to.


Now, when it comes to photography: For me, it's always been more than just images. It’s about being seen. Whoever you are, wherever you’re at in your journey, you are safe to show up exactly as yourself here. My goal is to create a space where you feel free, celebrated, and completely at home in your own skin.


I’ve been a professional photographer for over 12 years, but I’ve had a camera in my hands since I was a preteen. BE/SEEN is my passion project. A place to flip the script, represent the underrepresented, and do things my way. I want to capture the truth of who you are (messy, magical, and everything in between) because you are loved and lovable in every phase of life.

First off, I just want to thank Justine for being able to make our session so comfortable and easy! She was so much fun to work with and our pictures turned out way better than I could have imagined! My daughter was a little shy and unsure of everyone when we got our pictures done (pandemic baby) but Justine was able to catch her personality perfectly through the lens! Once our session was done I couldn’t wait to see what she had captured! Our photos were back to us so quickly and the imagines were the best quality! I can’t wait to have our family pictures taken by her for years to come!

Wedding at the Everett Arboretum

We want to say an enormous thank you for photographing our special day. We are SO grateful that we chose Justine and Jesus for our wedding photographers. Not only did our photos turn out amazing but they did a great job making us feel at ease and keeping us on task with my wishlist of shots. They had scoped out locations and lighting throughout the garden to really showcase our venue in each photo. J+J captured so many magical moments and paid attention to all of the details as well. I never felt rushed. They were calm, happy, and genuinely interested in the two of us and our families. We look forward to doing family photos this winter!

Engagement Session | Wedding in Sultan, WA


Justine and Jesus are a DREAM to work with. My wife and I had our engagement photos done by them. We were both so nervous because we didn’t know what to expect and had never done anything like it before, but they were amazing at making us feel comfortable and they were SO fun. It was such a natural process and the results were wonderful. Being an LGBTQ+ couple, you never really know what to expect, but I felt like I had just gone to the river with my fiancé and two of the kindest strangers to hang out and we came out of it with flawless photos and two incredible friends. After such an amazing experience, we asked them to shoot our wedding as well. They communicated with us on our wants and needs for our big day and made us feel completely at ease. They were professional, fun, and put in the work to help us remember our day forever. We will use them for our photo needs forever!

J + J Creativ did our wedding photos and it was an unbelievable experience. Not only did they help to stay on track with the photos I requested they kept a great time schedule (which for me was huge) and captured some of the most pure stunning and amazing photos I could have ever asked for.
